I am writing to urge you to pass House Bill 3125 and repeal South Carolina’s state income tax.

As a concerned constituent, I believe this legislation is essential for making our state more competitive, fostering economic growth, and allowing residents to keep more of their hard-earned money.

South Carolina currently has the highest income tax rate in the Southeast, putting us at a disadvantage compared to neighboring states like Florida and Tennessee, which have no state income tax.

By eliminating this tax, we can attract more businesses, encourage job growth, and provide much-needed financial relief to families across the state.

There is no reason South Carolina should continue to lag behind when we have the opportunity to implement a policy that will benefit everyone.

At the same time, I urge you to oppose House Bill 4216 — a so-called “relief” bill that would actually increase taxes on 1 out of 4 South Carolinians. This bill merely shifts the tax burden and will hurt more families than it helps.

I strongly encourage you to pass House Bill 3125 and take action to repeal the state income tax. The people of South Carolina deserve a tax system that works for them, not against them. American Action Fund will keep me informed of your actions.
