Dear Legislator,

As a taxpayer and a citizen of South Carolina, I’m concerned about the direction of our state’s budget.

Instead of delivering tax relief and reducing government waste, the most recent budget expands state spending and funds programs that have no place in a responsible fiscal plan.

Taxpayer dollars should not be spent on projects like hormone therapy for inmates, subsidies for Hollywood productions, or arts grants for radical exhibits and gummy bear statues.

Nor should we continue funding programs that push a political agenda disconnected from the values of most South Carolinians.

Families across the state are working hard to make ends meet. We deserve a government that spends wisely, protects individual freedom, and prioritizes the basic services taxpayers actually expect.

It’s time to reverse course. 

I urge you to reject wasteful spending, support meaningful reform, and fight for the elimination of the state income tax. South Carolinians are watching—and we expect better.
