Dear Legislators,

I urge you to support House Bill 341, sponsored by Rep. Danny McCormick. This legislation is a smart, responsible step to eliminate wasteful subsidies for film companies that do not benefit the vast majority of Louisiana taxpayers.

At a time when families across our state are struggling with high inflation and economic uncertainty, it’s unfair and unjust to keep funneling public money to out-of-state film executives. These subsidies are corporate welfare that picks winners and losers—and the losers are Louisiana’s working families.

House Bill 341 puts an end to these handouts and paves the way for meaningful tax relief by helping reduce the state income tax. It’s time to put Louisiana citizens first, restore fairness, and let the free market work without government interference.
