Politicians in both major political parties are actively growing the United States federal government at a blistering pace.
Our country is more than $35,000,000,000,000 in debt. Bureaucrats run our day-to-day lives. And state governments operate from the same script.
Something must be done immediately to reign in the government. Across the board, government should be smaller, spend less, and play a lesser role in our lives. Ultimately, it should be restricted to its constitutional requirements and be subservient to the people.
That is why American Action Fund is on the frontlines, fighting to kill the sacred cow that is big government by advocating for major and immediate action.
58% of the bills passed by AAF’s Hazlitt Coalition members in 2024 were bills to restrain the government. 14% of bills passed reduced regulations, 5% protected property rights, and 17% reduced or eliminated burdensome licensing schemes.

The most important and impactful thing that must be done is cutting government spending. Politicians must be cured of their obsession with spending our money.
In order to reduce spending, entire government agencies must be abolished. Anything that isn’t constitutional needs to go!
From there, numerous other policy areas must be addressed to limit the size and scope of government at all levels.
- Ban Taxpayer-Funded Lobbying
- Eliminate Useless and Overreaching Regulations
- Abolish Occupational Licensing Regimes
- Slash Red Tape
- Nullify Unconstitutional Federal Policies
- Protect Property Rights from Government Theft

This barely scratches the surface about what needs to be done to reign in government overreach, but American Action Fund and our Liberty Legislators are leading the charge to make it happen.
In New Hampshire in 2021, after weeks of intense negotiations with our Liberty Legislators, the House of Representatives passed the most fiscally conservative budget in the nation – a budget that actually cut government spending by $172,500,000! In addition to slashing spending, the budget also lowered business tax rates, eliminated interest and dividend taxes, and cut property taxes. More recently, our legislative allies took the first steps in the fight to prohibit taxpayer-funded lobbying in the Live Free or Die State.
Our most recent count shows that AAF’s Liberty Legislators have passed 82 bills to limit government, and they aren’t slowing down anytime soon.
