Senator Goldfinch,
I am writing to demand that you stop the political witch hunt of our conservative Treasurer Curtis Loftis.
Independent audits have made it clear that the recent $1.8 billion accounting error was the responsibility of the Comptroller General’s office, not the Treasurer. Yet instead of focusing on real accountability, you’re helping to lead a political witch hunt—one that echoes the same kind of treatment President Trump has faced for standing up to the establishment.
Even more troubling is the proposal to take away voters’ right to elect the Comptroller General. South Carolina’s financial officers should be accountable to the people—not handpicked by politicians behind closed doors.
I urge you to stop the attacks on Treasurer Loftis, and stand up for the constitutional rights of South Carolina voters. We deserve elected officials who serve us—not silence us. American Action Fund will keep me informed of your actions.
