“Petition to Ban Red Flag Laws in Kentucky”
WHEREAS: Red flag laws undermine the fundamental right to due process by allowing the government to seize firearms without proper judicial oversight or a conviction of wrongdoing; and
WHEREAS: These laws infringe upon the Second Amendment right to bear arms and the right of law-abiding citizens to defend themselves and their families; and
WHEREAS: Red flag laws create a dangerous precedent by allowing the state to act on subjective claims or accusations, often without sufficient evidence or the opportunity for the accused to defend themselves before their rights are infringed upon; and
WHEREAS: Citizens of the Commonwealth, such as myself, believe it is time to protect the rights of Kentuckians and reject the overreach of red flag laws that threaten individual freedoms and safety;
THEREFORE: As your constituent, I DEMAND you take immediate action to ban the implementation of red flag laws in Kentucky. American Action Fund will keep me informed of your actions.
