Anti-gun fanatics in Louisiana triple down on their disarmament crusade

By AAF | Jul 22, 2024

After losing their fight to kill the Constitutional Carry bill and their follow-up fight to gut the recently passed law, anti-gun politicians in New Orleans continue grasping for anything that would allow them to disarm law-abiding gun owners.

Their latest attempt to disarm Louisianans involves designating the New Orleans Police Headquarters in the French Quarter as a “vocational school,” effectively banning law-abiding citizens from carrying a gun within 1000 feet of this location.

This means that law-abiding citizens can become criminals simply for not knowing that the police station now identifies as a “school.”

Anti-gunners are desperate to advance their radical agenda after massive losses in the 2024 Legislative Session.

The gun control mob failed to stop Constitutional Carry during the session in February after American Action Fund fought to make the bill one of the cleanest Constitutional Carry bills in the nation.

Despite such a monumental victory, gun owners were forced back into the fight when not even a month later, anti-gun lawmakers began filing gun control bills like Republican Senator Kirk Talbot’s proposed bill to ban Constitutional Carry in the French Quarter.

American Action Fund swiftly began to combat these egregious attacks on the rights of Louisiana citizens, and by the end of the 2024 session, gun grabbers went home with nothing.

We must realize that there will always be a new fight for gun rights. The enemies of the Second Amendment are persistent, and the fight for your rights never ends. Even when it seems like we’ve won, we cannot rest.

This highlights the importance of remaining vigilant and keeping up the fight even when it seems the patriots have all the momentum.
