Congressman Eric Burlison Introduces Bold Legislation to Abolish the ATF and Repeal the NFA

Congressman Eric Burlison (R-MO-07) is wasting no time in Washington, D.C. He’s taking a stand for the Second Amendment with 2 bold pieces of legislation: the Abolish the ATF Act and the Repeal the NFA Act. Together, these bills aim at unconstitutional systems that have trampled on the Second amendment rights of law-abiding Americans for decades.

The Abolish the ATF Act calls for a complete shutdown of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms (ATF). From the tragedies of Ruby Ridge and Waco to the recent pistol brace rule that turned millions of law-abiding gun owners into criminals overnight, the ATF has a long history of overstepping its authority. As Rep. Burlison said, “If this agency cannot serve the people within the framework of the Constitution, it has no place in our government.”

For nearly a century, the ATF has weaponized the federal government against peaceful citizens. The Abolish the ATF Act seeks to end their bureaucratic tyranny once and for all.

Rep. Burlison has also reintroduced the Repeal the NFA Act, targeting the National Firearms Act of 1934, which he calls a “sham” used by unelected bureaucrats to strip Americans of their Second Amendment rights.

The Repeal the NFA Act targets the National Firearms Act of 1934, which imposes taxes, registration, and burdensome regulations on certain firearms and accessories. 

Burlison stated, “The Repeal the NFA Act will strip the ATF of its authority to criminalize lawful gun owners and will undo nearly 90 years of assault on fundamental freedoms. I’m proud to stand with and support Americans nationwide as we take this issue head-on.”

For decades, the federal government has used the NFA to expand its power over law-abiding citizens without Congressional approval. The recent pistol brace rule is just one example, leaving millions of Americans with a choice: comply with unconstitutional regulations or risk being labeled as felons.
