Idaho just banned mask mandates in the first major reform aimed at stopping COVID-style tyranny from happening again.
House Bill 32 ensures that state agencies, public schools, and local governments can never again force individuals to wear masks. The ban comes as a direct result of an outpouring of support from liberty-minded grassroots activists who have fought tirelessly to prevent government overreach.
Idahoans may remember life in 2020 and the subsequent years. On March 25, 2020, Governor Brad Little demanded citizens stay at home, risking their livelihoods.
“I am following the guidance of our public health experts and issuing a statewide stay-home order effective immediately.”
Businesses shuttered, schools locked their doors, and entire communities were paralyzed by sweeping mandates handed down by government officials who claimed to have our best interests at heart. Fear became policy, and those who questioned the official narrative were silenced. The COVID-19 pandemic was not just a health crisis—it was a crisis of freedom.
Now, five years later, Governor Brad Little signed House Bill 32 in a major step to ensuring that never happens again.
The legislation was authored by Rep. Rob Beiswenger and Sen. Brian Lenney, both legislators that our sister organization, Make Liberty Win PAC was instrumental in helping to get elected.
Make Liberty Win PAC sent tens of thousands of mailers, text messages and phone calls in the 2024 primary to help Rob Beiswenger defeat incumbent Swamp Committee Vice Chair Rep. Matt Bundy. Make Liberty Win PAC also knocked over 3,000 doors for Sen. Brian Lenney back in 2022 to help first time candidate Lenney defeat Establishment RINO Jeff Agenbroad.
Activists have pledged to continue fighting for “Never Again” policies such as reforming the governor’s emergency powers, prohibiting vaccine mandates, and outlawing lockdowns. Idahoans are capable of making informed decisions about their health, work, and travel. Never again should the government be allowed to strip them of their liberty in the name of safety or health.
