Judge Issues Order Stating PA Gun Owners Can Carry in Vehicle Without Permit

By AAF | Jul 29, 2024

A Federal judge ruled the Pennsylvania ban on gun owners carrying a firearm in their vehicle without a permit is unconstitutional.

District Judge Christopher C. Conner of the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Pennsylvania issued a 44-page memorandum on the ruling.

Additionally, Conner stated that banning possession of a firearm during a state of emergency is facially unconstitutional, and he enjoined Pennsylvania State Police Commissioner Col. Christopher Paris from enforcing that ban.

The Second Amendment Foundation claimed victory as plaintiffs in the case.

Thanks to the ruling, gun owners may now carry or transport firearms in their vehicles without jumping through bureaucratic hoops and paying for an unconstitutional government license.

Though this right should not end when a person steps out of their vehicle, this is a great step forward for Pennsylvanians.
