Ohioans Demand Right to Work Legislation

It’s January, and as the new legislative session ramps up, American Action Fund is fighting for your freedom! 

At the top of our legislative agenda for 2025 is passing Right to Work legislation in Ohio.  

Right to Work laws are crucial in ensuring that no worker is forced to join a union or pay union dues as a condition of employment. 

This important legislation provides Ohio’s workers with the freedom to choose whether or not union membership is right for them. It empowers individuals, promotes economic growth, and creates a more competitive, dynamic job market that can attract businesses and opportunities to our state.

As it stands right now, while Ohio is one of the most conservative states in the country, it still has some of the weakest protections for workers rights. 

The absence of Right to Work protections puts Ohio at a substantial disadvantage when it comes to competing for both jobs and workers. 

Why Right to Work is Important for Ohio:

Freedom of Choice: Workers should have the autonomy to decide whether or not union membership is in their best interest, without fear of losing their job or livelihood.

Job Creation: States with Right to Work laws tend to see higher levels of job growth, as businesses are more likely to invest in areas where workers have the freedom to make their own employment decisions.

Economic Prosperity: By fostering a more flexible and competitive workforce, Right to Work helps to boost the overall economy, benefiting businesses, workers, and communities alike.

This legislation is vital for establishing both liberty and economic vitality in Ohio!

For too long union bosses have been able to fly under the radar in Ohio, bullying both businesses and workers with their forced unionization tactics. 

It’s time for Ohio to do what states like Indiana, Kentucky, and  Wisconsin have already done, and protect the rights of both businesses and workers by passing crucial Right to Work Legislation! 

American Action Fund will be working diligently to mobilize a coalition of grassroots support behind efforts to pass Right to Work legislation this year.
