Liberty Activists Prepare for Brawl After Tuesday’s Elections in New Hampshire
By AAF | Sep 12, 2024
New Hampshire held its primary election on Tuesday, and liberty advocates are cautiously optimistic about what that means for the upcoming legislative session in early 2025.
New Hampshire is a high-value target for American Action Fund in their fight to create Liberty Lighthouse States – beacons of liberty for the world to emulate.
As part of their efforts to transform the Live Free or Die state, AAF has fought to kill “Red Flag” Gun Confiscation laws, pass legislation to protect New Hampshire’s National Guard soldiers from federal overreach, ban taxpayer funded lobbying, and end forced unionism.
Unfortunately, these efforts have been met with fierce resistance from the political establishment in Concord.
That resistance may soften now that five anti-liberty Republicans lost their bids for reelection.
Kevin Pratt and Tim Cahill, who previously voted in favor of forced unionism and to protect taxpayer-funded lobbyists, lost their elections to pro-liberty candidates Cindy Bennett and Brian Nadeau.
Matt Sabourin’s victory in Rockingham 30 signals a significant step forward for Seabrook with the actions taken in the legislative session by anti-Right to Work and anti-Defend the Guard politician Jason Janvrin coming back to haunt him.
New pro-liberty candidate Susan Deroy demolished incumbent David Bickford who voted against banning child genital mutilation.
Liberal Republican Bonnie Ham also lost her election Tuesday after voting against parental rights, voting to keep kids masked, and voting against education freedom accounts.
Not only did the political establishment lose some key allies, but the number of liberty legislators grew Tuesday night.
This signals a larger shift in the will of the People and lays the groundwork for some important fights during the next legislative session.
The results of Tuesday’s election leave liberty activists hopeful at the possibility of finally ending forced unionism in New Hampshire, but it is critical that the grassroots stay engaged and call on their elected officials to vote for Right to Work and other pro-liberty legislation.
