DENIED: South Carolina’s Health Czar Hopes Crushed

By AAF | Sep 19, 2024

Instead of stopping runaway “health emergencies” or banning vaccine mandates, the South Carolina Legislature ignored the lessons learned from COVID and attempted to install an Anthony Fauci-style Health Czar.

In May, South Carolina lawmakers attempted to pass Senate Bill 915, otherwise known as the Health Czar bill.

This bill would have consolidated South Carolina’s various health agencies into one department and given control to one person, an unelected Anthony Fauci-style bureaucrat.

SB 915 would have bestowed the Health Czar with the power to quarantine individuals, impose mask mandates, and shut down businesses. Meanwhile, the Legislature would have had no power to stop him if he went rogue.

On the last day of session in May, with minutes to spare, Medical Freedom Champion Rep. Josiah Magnuson successfully stalled the bill, but the activists at American Action Fund knew the fight was not over.

Governor Henry McMaster in South Carolina quickly encouraged lawmakers to pass the Health Czar bill when legislators were set to return in June during a special session to pass the budget.

That’s when American Action Fund sprang into action again by mobilizing Palmetto State citizens to contact their lawmakers and demand they vote against establishing a Health Czar

After being bombarded with overwhelming pressure from their constituents, politicians in Columbia opted to let dead dogs lie and not revive this tyrannical legislation.

This is just one of many examples of how American Action Fund and vigilant patriots work together to defend liberty.

If it wasn’t for the countless supporters standing with AAF by signing petitions and contacting their lawmakers, the Palmetto State would be at greater risk of losing their freedoms in another “health crisis.”
