Ohio has long been considered a battleground state with a strong tendency to support big-government types in both parties. However, in recent years, there has been a massive upswell in grassroots activists who have mobilized to change the heading of the state, electing a new generation of legislators who are pushing for key reforms in regulations, taxes, and spending.
Nobody embodies that change more than Representative Ron Ferguson. Since his election in 2020, Ron Ferguson has been an agent of change in Columbus, working as a strong representative of the Hazlitt Coalition and the change we are pushing for.
Most recently, Rep. Ferguson did that by leading the charge in the fight with Ohio’s Blue 22, a coalition of 22 “Republicans” who joined with Democrats to keep leadership positions in the hands of big government liberals – a move that divided and wounded the Republican party and caucus.
Unhappy with this betrayal, Rep. Ferguson committed himself to the fight to hold the Blue 22 responsible, raising the profile of the issue and contributing to the environment that got many of these bad actors thrown out of office.
Now, as a result of his work, there’s a new fight for leadership in Ohio, and there is an opportunity for Hazlitt members like Rep. Ron Ferguson to once again point the state in a pro-liberty direction.
